FAQ
What is an NTAG 213 card?
NTAG 213 is an NFC Forum Type 2 compatible IC from NXP with 144 bytes of user memory. It operates at 13.56 MHz and is designed for ISO/IEC 14443 Type A applications.
What is the difference between NTAG 213, NTAG 215 and NTAG 216?
The main difference for card buyers is available user memory: NTAG 213 provides 144 bytes, NTAG 215 provides 504 bytes and NTAG 216 provides 888 bytes. All three belong to the NTAG 21x family and use the same 13.56 MHz NFC platform.
Are NTAG 213/215/216 cards NFC cards?
Yes. NTAG 213, 215 and 216 are NFC tag ICs designed for NFC Forum Type 2 Tag applications and ISO/IEC 14443 Type A communication.
Can NTAG cards be custom printed?
Yes. Custom printing can include full-color artwork, logos, variable data, QR codes, barcodes and sequential numbering, depending on the card construction and project requirements.
Can you encode NTAG cards before shipment?
Yes. Pre-encoding can be arranged for project-specific applications, including NDEF data, URLs, UID mapping, serialization and other agreed data structures.
Can each card have unique data?
Yes, where the project requires individual personalization. Unique data can be linked to UID, card numbers, QR codes or other customer-defined records, subject to the agreed data format and encoding workflow.
Can you provide NTAG card samples?
Yes. Samples can be supplied for appearance, NFC compatibility and encoding validation. Complimentary samples may depend on project quantity and cooperation scope.
What is the MOQ for NTAG cards?
MOQ depends on chip type, material, printing, personalization and encoding requirements. The quotation should be based on the complete project specification rather than a generic card quantity.
What is the production lead time?
Lead time depends on the card construction, printing, personalization, encoding requirements and order quantity. Unprinted cards may normally be produced faster than fully printed and encoded cards.
How do you control NTAG card quality?
Quality control includes pre-production sample verification, in-process inspection, final inspection, encoding verification, random sampling and appearance/readability checks.
Can I test the cards with my own NFC readers?
Yes. Sample testing with the customer's actual smartphone, NFC reader or application environment is recommended before mass production because final performance depends on the reader, device, antenna configuration and application environment. NXP also notes that operating distance depends on field strength and antenna geometry.
Do you support recurring B2B orders?
Yes. The manufacturing workflow supports recurring projects, production traceability and forecast-based replenishment for customers with ongoing requirements.
Can you support large-volume NTAG card projects?
Yes. The stated monthly production capacity is up to 3 million+ cards(12 million+ Tags), with scalable production for larger recurring programs.
What materials can be used for NTAG cards?
Available options include PVC, RPVC, PLA, PC, ABS, PET, PETG, PBAT and TESLIN, with other project-specific materials subject to technical review.
Can you provide compliance documentation?
ISO 9001 quality management support, RoHS-compliant material options and FSC-certified paper packaging are available according to the current project offering. Additional documentation can be reviewed based on market and project requirements.
